My third key insight is based on the class, Sport and Entertainment in American Life (SPTE110), which I took in the 2021 spring Semester. In this class, I learned about the American world of sports. We discovered various articles about athletes and how much they get paid, their placement, and the major American profession sports league in general.  I wrote several papers based on a sports critique film, a sports figure influencer, and a sports team. I also presented a PowerPoint presentation on the American National Football League (NFL). I learned about the NFL but also the National Basketball Association (NBA) and discovered how popular they are in American sports.

As previously discussed, it has been almost 3 years since I have been in the United States and have heard people talk about the NFL and NBA much of the time in any sports discussion. My uncle (who has been here for a long time) is a very sporty person and he often talks about sports. In high school many of my friends would have discussions about the football game that happened the previous night. I would see the excitement in them but could not relate much to them, as I did not have enough knowledge about the American world of sports. This class gave me the information I need to understand American sport, I learned about the National Football League in depth. Recently when the Super Bowl took place, I was as excited as many other football fans.  As I knew that Super Bowl is the annual championship game or the final game of NFL in depth. The analysis presentation I did on sports organization gave me much information about the NFL. I learned about the president of the organization and some history of the organization. I discovered that this organization has 32 teams and please 16 games on an average in 17-week period. I came to know that the NFL grosses billions of U.S. dollars on an average in every season, and its highest paid players get paid millions of dollars. Recently, when the Super Bowl took place, I was as excited as many other football fans, as I now knew that the Super bowl is the annual championship game or the final game of the NFL.

This PowerPoint presentation assignment was important to me as it gave me the understanding of the life of American sports looks like. I learned about the NFL in detail, and understanding sports is important to me because I want to learn about American culture. Recently, learning about the American sports has helped me to adopt better into American society, and I was excited to be a keen spectator during the recent Super Bowl.
